The IFE-STAR program is proud to announce its official transition to a new identity: U.S. IFE. This evolution reflects the program's expanding role in coordinating the national inertial fusion energy (IFE) ecosystem and its commitment to a sustainable energy future.

The new name, U.S. IFE, signals a unified shared mission: to advance inertial fusion energy as a cornerstone of the nation’s sustainable energy strategy. By aligning the efforts of leading academic institutions, national labs, and private industry, U.S. IFE serves as the primary engine for turning the potential of fusion science into national progress.

To support this new chapter, the program’s digital presence is also evolving. A new online hub, usife.org, will be launching soon. This site will serve as the central portal for research updates, program logistics, and strategic roadmaps for the U.S. IFE community.

During this transition, stakeholders can continue to find updates on the current IFE-STAR platform until the full launch of the new site.
